The Nordic Museum/Nordiska museet has, together with Stockholm County Museum (SE), The Finnish Museum of Photography (FIN) and Aalborg City Archives (DK), received funding from Riksbankens Jubileumsfond for a collaborative project researching methods for collecting social digital photography.
The project’s first phase, that ended in June 2016, was funded by Nordisk kulturfond. During 2015 and 2016 the project has beed focused on research and studies of the field of collecting social digital photography within the heritage sector.
The following three years of the project 2017–2020, funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, will be aimed at performing pilot studies, developing methods and ending with a seminar and an anthology. The project will be extensively communicated through social media, seminars and presentations.
The name of the project was for the first phase 2015–2016 Collecting the Digital: From a Photographic Perspective. From September 2016 the name of the project is Collecting Social Photography.
